FED by the Holy Spirit, LED to alter destinies.
Dribble for Destiny is a 501(c)3 corporation.
Since its beginning, Dribble for Destiny has been involved in bringing Christ's message of hope to the nations, performing in schools, prisons, public arenas, and professional clubs in Brazil, Ecuador, Peru, South Africa, Australia, Italy, France, Malta, Ukraine, and Poland. Their work has taken them to hilltop mansions as well as slums in the valleys, performing shows on tractor trailer beds, softball fields, and the Logos Hope ship. Dribble for Destiny worked in London England, during the XXX Olympiad performing at Westminster Abbey, All Soul's Church, and City Gateway. Their latest international trip to Rio for the XXXI Olympiad allowed them to work with basketball clubs as well as the largest slum (favela) in Latin America. 2020 will find them in Tokyo, Japan for the XXXII Olympiad where they will join forces with local churches.
Because basketball is an international language, it is used to break down defenses and open the door to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Training is held at Dribble for Destiny, Francis Asbury UMC, 1800 E. North Street, Greenville, SC. Correspondence should be mailed to 212 Ridge Point Road, Easley, SC 29640.
Please note: refunds are not given for unused training. Athletes that cannot finish a commitment to a team or training are redirected to camps and clinics.
BIO
A Wisconsin native, Sherri Odlevak took to the gym and track for the University of Wisconsin-Superior where she graduated Magna Cum Laude. While there she was named All Conference three years in volleyball and two years in basketball. Her senior year of college she earned honors as the National Heptathlon Champion and was named All American in track and field. UW-Superior honored her three years running as Outstanding Woman Athlete of the Year.
After earning her bachelor's degree in Physical Education, she played with Athletes in Action and toured Ecuador, Peru, and Brazil. She also represented the US Team in the International Pre-Olympic Basketball Tournament held in Havana, Cuba, and toured with Tanya Crevier's "World's Greatest Ball-Handling Show."
Sherri has achieved many milestones in her post-collegiate life. She was named Sports Woman of the Year in Greenville, SC. At her tenure at Furman University as Associate Women's Head Basketball Coach and First Assistant, she recruited four top players who were all named Player of the Year. In 1996 Sherri was inducted into the UW-Superior Hall of Fame. In 2008 the city of Superior, Wisconsin, inducted her into their Athletic and Academic Halls of Fame.
Sherri is a Christian and works with Bill Glass' Champions for Life, Chuck Colson's Prison Fellowship, Scottie Barnes' Forgiven Ministry, as well as various other prison ministries sharing her testimony with inmates all over the world. She speaks nationally at churches, banquets, and schools demonstrating her phenomenal basketball techniques. While entertaining an audience, she shares testimony about attitude and, most importantly, her relationship with Jesus Christ.
In 1999 Sherri left her full-time teaching and coaching career to start Dribble for Destiny, a non-profit organization, aimed at helping young athletes find their full potential not only on the basketball court, but in all aspects of life.
